Cadiogan, Berner top Real Estate exams

ADDING TO THE LIST OF LORMA’S PRIDE, Randy Berner and Melchezedeck Cadiogan topped the 2013 Real Estate Licensure Examination last March and July.

The said examination which was divided into two namely, Real Estate Brokers Licensure Examination and Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Examination was held in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Lucena.

Berner is a student of Bachelor of Science in Business Management(BSBM) of the College of Management and Accountancy while Cadiogan is a Certified Public Accountant and a part-time faculty of the said department.

Berner managed to place 6th on the Real Estate Brokers Licensure Examination and passed the Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Examination.

On the other hand, Cadiogan topped both examinations placing 4th and 6th in Real Estate Brokers Licensure Examination and Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Examination respectively.

The examination was based on RA 9646 which took effect in 2010 which regulates the practice of real estate service in the Philippines.

Real estate business which is governed by RA 9646 refers to removable properties like lands, and buildings. The law affirms that the business of real estate must be transacted by professional real estate brokers who will negotiate and real estate appraisers who will get the market value of the removable property.

Examiners for the RELE include any college degree graduate or professional since there is still no graduate of a degree course in real estate. A course is newly opened in DLSU and is still on its third year.

“I took the examination because it’s a good opportunity for me to become a licensed real estate broker and appraiser while we are still allowed to take the test since DLSU has not yet produced their first batch of graduates from their newly offered course regarding real estate,” Cadiogan says.

“One advantage of passing the exams is that you are treated as another professional aside from your craft since you are given license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC),” she adds.

In addition to the two top notchers, Atty Michael Nebrija of the CMA also passed the exams.
