Two Lorma Toastmasters International members obtained 2 golds and 1 bronze in the Area 61 District 75 Division G Speech Contest held on February 20 at Hotel Veniz Baguio City.
Mr. Avelina C. Visaya and Mr. Joseph Cristobal emerged as champions in the Humorous Speech and International Speech competitions, respectively. Mrs. Amelia N. Vicente place 2nd runner-up in the Impromptu Speech competition.

San Fernando City, La Union (6 November) -- The Regional Development Council (RDC) of Region I recently awarded various stakeholders in different fields for signifying exemplary performances in terms of productivity and quality (P&Q) improvement for CY-2009 during the culminating ceremony of the National Quality and Productivity Improvement Month with the theme, 'Enhancing Quality and Productivity Towards Competitiveness'.
Special citations were given to the Department of Science and Technology – Region I, Lorma Colleges and Lorma Medical Center for being among the very few institutions in the region to have an International Standardization Organization (ISO) – certification.
Today, November 5, 2009, Officers from DOLE Regional Office awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Lorma Colleges for the school’s invaluable support in the implementation of the “Kabataan IT Project”. Seventeen (17) graduating students of BS Information Technology and BS Computer Engineering are tapped to be mentors to provide knowledge and skills in basic computer operation to Out-of-School Youth, Unemployed or Underemployed Filipinos.
