Lorma joins prestigious Microsoft IT Academy

School year 2011-2012 marks another academic breakthrough for Lorma Colleges as it ties up with Microsoft  to expand the school’s IT expertise through the MICROSOFT IT ACADEMY Advanced Level program.

The exclusivity of this feature draws a bundle of privileges to the school and to Lormanians through the MICROSOFT Professional Courseware.

This shall include academic textbooks, E-Learning Courses, Lab licenses, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Exams, Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Academic Alliance, certification to become Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), subscriptions to TechNet resources for IT professionals and an unlimited grant to the Microsoft’s E-reference Library.

Lorma Colleges is the first and only school in the Ilocandia region with an Advanced Level Membership to the Microsoft IT Academy.

The College of Computer Studies and Engineering as well as the Science and Technology Institute shall be the pioneering departments which will incorporate the IT Academy features into its curriculum.

Certain indices are being formulated to include the ITA benefits into the existing course outlines. Lorma’s subscription to the IT Academy intensifies the technology essentials of providing skills trainings and certifications to students and faculty members.

CCSE Dean Engr. Ana Belen Noble expresses positively about this new development and notes how this is crucial to Lorma IT graduates.

“ Of course, they will have the best advantage compared to other schools who don’t offer this IT Academy program like Lorma does,”she said.

Dean Noble also mentions that the Microsoft Official Curriculum will be intersperesed with the CCSE course electives.

The same program shall likewise be intergrated into the existing curricula of the grade school, Special Science High School and Lorma International School of the San Juan campus. These course items will be tailored to meet the needs of the students of all ages and levels of IT experience.

Lorma Colleges and Microsoft IT Academy introduces this milestone to help students have access to resources which can help them build an impressive IT credential that employers demand – a plus factor for leveraging experience of Lorma graduates in the global IT industry.
